Rare Prototypes of weapons have started appearing throughout Gurhal recently, supposedly from a recent Kubara manufacturer's warehouse being raided. These prototype weapons are unstable compared to their mass-produced counterparts, but exhibit modifications not seen elsewhere. These modifications appear to alter the weapon's functionality, providing certain benefits such as increasing attack power or range of effectiveness.

Prototype Weapons are rare variants of existing weapons which can drop in place of the regular version of the weapon. Prototype Weapons offer a small benefit over the normal version of the weapon as follows:

Obtaining Prototype Weapons

Prototype weapons have a chance to replace a pre-made weapon drop from an enemy or box. This includes some Item Exchange Missions like Desert Arms Shop, which spawns a box containing its rewards.

Prototype weapons can not be obtained via Item Synthesis, nor Exchange Missions where the item is placed directly into your inventory.

Striking Weapons

Striking weapons can drop in their regular configuration, or as one of four prototypes:

Prototype Effect
NV The weapon's variance attribute is set to 0.
EE The weapon's element is set to 55%.
AR The weapon's attack range is increased by 8%.
DA The weapon's damage output is boosted by 4%.
  • For weapons that naturally have a variance value of 0, the NV prototype is not available.
  • Slicers cannot drop in the AR variant.
  • Striking prototype weapons will always drop with a minimum 40% element.

Ranged Weapons

Ranged weapons can drop in their regular configuration, or as one of nine prototypes:

Prototype Effect
NV The weapon's variance attribute is set to 0.
SE The weapon's Status Effect rate is boosted by 10%.
DA The weapon's damage output is boosted by 4%.
AMP-F The weapon's damage when using Fire-element bullets is boosted by 5%.
AMP-I The weapon's damage when using Ice-element bullets is boosted by 5%.
AMP-E The weapon's damage when using Electric-element bullets is boosted by 5%.
AMP-G The weapon's damage when using Ground-element bullets is boosted by 5%.
AMP-L The weapon's damage when using Light-element bullets is boosted by 5%.
AMP-D The weapon's damage when using Dark-element bullets is boosted by 5%.
  • For weapons that naturally have a variance value of 0, the NV prototype is not available.

TECHNIC Weapons

TECHNIC weapons can drop in their regular configuration, or as one of nine prototypes:

Prototype Effect
NV The weapon's variance attribute is set to 0.
SE The weapon's Status Effect rate is boosted by 10%.
DA The weapon's damage output is boosted by 4%.
AMP-F The weapon's damage when using Fire-element TECHNICs is boosted by 5%.
AMP-I The weapon's damage when using Ice-element TECHNICs is boosted by 5%.
AMP-E The weapon's damage when using Electric-element TECHNICs is boosted by 5%.
AMP-G The weapon's damage when using Ground-element TECHNICs is boosted by 5%.
AMP-L The weapon's damage when using Light-element TECHNICs is boosted by 5%.
AMP-D The weapon's damage when using Dark-element TECHNICs is boosted by 5%.
  • For weapons that naturally have a variance value of 0, the NV prototype is not available.

Miscellaneous

  • Weapons that boost damage output boost the overall damage output by the stated percentage. For example, a Damage Amp weapon (4% boost) will calculate the weapon's damage using the regular formula, and then multiply the result by 1.04x. As another example, a TECHNIC AMP-G weapon, used to cast Diga, will calculate damage as normal and then multiply the result by 1.05x. The weapon could also contain other Ground TECHNICs and still give the bonus when casting Diga, but to maximise damage output it would be wise to make use of elemental stacking bonuses on these weapons.
  • Prototype weapons are always 15★ rarity, but retain their original rank. A C-rank whip with the prototype name VB-DA0102 will still be equippable by any class that could equip C-rank Whips, despite its high rarity.
  • Prototype weapons will be listed on all weapon pages on the wiki. This is not a guarantee that prototypes are available for any given weapon, and are listed in case of future release and to aid searching the wiki when prototypes are found.
