There's an original Xbox Live replacement that was announced in 2020 called Insignia. It'll be accessible from original Xbox consoles. They recently announced a public beta will be happening soon, and will initially support 13 titles. One of them will be PSO: EP I & II ! It wouldn't let me link the article due to spam, but surely info can be found pretty easily.
